Privacy and cookies notice

How we use personal information when you visit this website, request work or become a customer.

Who is responsible for your information

Trade Facilities Services (TFS) Ltd, company number 08606219, is the controller of personal information used to manage our electrical services and customer enquiries. Registered office: 1 Pinehurst Close, Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, SS17 0FX (registered office only, not open to visitors). Contact: info@electricalsafetycertificate.co.uk or 020 3637 1446.

Information we use

Names, contact details, property and billing addresses, enquiry details, access and appointment arrangements, quotations, invoices and records of work. Inspection records and photographs may contain information about a property or its occupants. We collect information from you and, where relevant to the work, from your landlord, agent, property manager or appointed contractor. When you browse this website, our hosting provider may process technical data such as IP address, browser and device information for security and operation.

Please share only what is needed for your enquiry. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.

How this website handles enquiries

This website does not run its own enquiry form or store enquiries itself. When you choose Open secure request form, you are taken to a secure form on the website of Jobber, our job management system, and the details you submit are sent to and held by Jobber on our behalf. The customer portal is also provided by Jobber. You can also contact us directly by phone or email. See Jobber's privacy policy for their processing.

Why we use information and our lawful bases

To answer enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange access, carry out electrical work, issue reports and certificates, handle payments and resolve queries. For individual customers this is normally necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, or to perform our contract. We rely on legitimate interests for business contact administration, necessary coordination with landlords, agents and occupants, service records, security, fraud prevention and handling complaints or legal claims, limiting information to what is needed. We rely on legal obligation where records are required for tax, accounting or other law. We ask for consent where required for optional analytics or marketing; sending an enquiry does not give permission for marketing.

Who may receive information

Appointed engineers and contractors, our website hosting and business software providers (including Jobber), and professional advisers such as accountants, insurers or legal advisers where necessary. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect legal rights. We do not sell enquiry or customer details.

How long we keep information

  • Unsuccessful enquiries are normally reviewed for deletion or anonymisation 12 months after the last meaningful contact.
  • Customer and job records are normally kept for six years after completion of the work or the end of the customer relationship.
  • Accounting and tax records are normally kept for six years from the end of the company financial year to which they relate.
  • Records may be kept longer where required by law, an unresolved claim or investigation, or a documented safety or warranty need. Any extension must have a documented reason and review date.

Cookies and similar technologies

Optional cookies and similar technologies are off unless you choose them. When you make a cookie choice, a small record is kept in your browser's local storage for up to 180 days. It contains only your choices and the date. You can use the site fully, including requesting a quotation, if you reject everything optional.

If you allow website analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used. It records which pages are visited (page paths and titles only — never the contents of forms, and we do not send query strings or referring addresses that could contain personal details). We also use it to count when someone returns to this website after sending a quotation request, so we can tell whether the request form is working; this records only that a return happened, not any detail of the request. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) for this purpose. Advertising features — including advertising storage, ad personalisation and Google signals — are permanently switched off, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising or share customer lists with Google. Google acts as a processor under its own terms; see Google's privacy policy.

If you allow advertising measurement, we use the Meta pixel (our dataset is called "TFS Website Enquiries") to measure our Facebook and Instagram advertising. The pixel sets Meta cookies (such as _fbp) and uses browser identifiers to record page visits and to count when someone returns to this website after sending a quotation request — it records only that a visit or return happened, never the contents of forms, your contact details, postcode or request details. The pixel loads only on standard pages of this website whose address carries no extra parameters, and your browser is set to share only the site origin — not the full address — as the referring page. We do not use automatic advanced matching, automatic event collection or customer-list uploads, and we do not send Meta any information you enter in the Jobber form. Meta Platforms acts under its own terms; see Meta's privacy policy.

If you later withdraw either choice, that service's record in this browser is removed and no further data is sent to it. Rejecting or withdrawing analytics or advertising measurement never affects your ability to request a quotation or use any part of this website.

The Jobber request form and customer portal are on Jobber's own website; those services may use their own cookies or technologies under their privacy information. Links to the NAPIT register open NAPIT's website.

Security and international processing

We aim to restrict access to people and providers who need information for their work and to use proportionate safeguards. No internet service can guarantee complete security. Some providers may process information outside the UK; for example, Jobber describes processing in Canada and the United States. Our policy requires applicable UK adequacy arrangements or appropriate safeguards for restricted transfers. Provider arrangements are under review and we do not claim that all information stays in the UK. Contact us for details relevant to your information.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing at any time. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it without affecting earlier processing. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity and normally respond within one calendar month, subject to lawful extensions.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we would appreciate the chance to resolve concerns first.
